I have a hard time believing HP will deliver any of this.

I know that the h6320/h6325 will be released (or may actually be released now) in Canada for Rogers Wireless customers. I am not sure the information about Cingular is correct.

I've had an h6325 on demo for 2 weeks and the specs were just posted on the HP.CA web site http://www.hp.ca/products/static/ipaq/.

I've all but given up on Moto and HP. My 4705 has to be soft reset every time I want to turn on BT. My MPx220 was of poor quality to say the least. What's with these companies?

Well thats easy they expect us to upgrade every 6-12 months. But I don't buy the 65xx having WiFi and Magneto, the 67xx maybe. Otherwise the only differene would be the processor and thats hardlly worth offering two models over they would just choose the better one.

My other issue with the 65xx is WM03SE will developers start moving towards WM05 and forsake the 03SE 240x240 needs.

Sorry, with all due respect, but I have a direct word from reliable HP sources that this and most of what you wrote in this posting is incorrect.

Time will show... 8)
I second that. No offense man but you got some crucial details wrong. I work at HP. 6500 doesn't have wifi, 6700 does. I've also heard conflicting info about the Magneto but I don't have the official word on that.

I don't have any hard data on the CPU perf, but the unit isn't large. It's almost exactly the length & width of the 4100, but a little deeper and a little heavier. Kinda like the ipod vs ipod photo. And besides, it /is/ a new HTC phone. HTC made it.

If you are buying a cell phone, you definately don't want to go with Motorola. Worst build quality out of all the big manufacturers... Go with Nokia or SE, if you want quality.

Easy there... I already stated in this thread that I had neglected to clarify in my conversation with the HP rep which of the two models had WiFi...

That part of the conversation went like this...

Me: "Is WiFi supported?"
HP Rep: "Yes"

<.. next topic ...>

Certainly the topic on these units weren't planned on my part, I was meeting the rep to discuss enterprise strategy & partnerships, but then the subject of the hw65/6700 came up and I was told that while demo units were available, it had been a recent decision to push out the release date to November.

That source could be absolutely be wrong. I'm only stating what I've been told. After all, there is a reason why the thread title has the word "Rumor" in it...

Hi,
I am so out of touch with what is going on in the PPC world lately.

I know shame on me. BUT there are other things that have taken me away.

So, Magneto? What is this? Isn't Magneto an X-Men character?

Up until this week, I had no desire to replace my cute 2215. However, I am getting the itch with the release of WM05. I will be sticking to my previous requirementwhich is the device must be dual slot. I have relaxed a bit though. Before it had to be CF and SD, but now 2 SD will be ok.

Where can I find prototype photos of the new HP models??

I will most likely stay with HP because I have never and I mean never have had any problems with my 2215. I still love it, but can see it's time to come into year 5 of the 21st century.

Now for phones as an aside:
I just purchased a Sanyo mm7400 (mm5600 isn't out yet here)
and I love it. But then I spotted the Nokia 7280 and began to salivate. But buying that would mean I would have to switch to a different carrier and well - I really don't want to do that. With my current carrier I'm not locked into a plan, but I do have the lowest calling rates available and my calls get billed to my home phone and I don't have a regular monthly charge. I like it this way. BUT I suppose I could carry 2 phones.

Magneto is the code name for the new Windows Mobile platform - i.e. v5.0

Here's some: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=39477

HP have actually listed the hw6510/hw6515 on their European sites. Here are links for HP UK:
