Handango Yardsticks for 2002
"Handango, the leading platform and publisher of mobile software, today released the Handango Yardstick, a quarterly report on the state of the mobile software economy. Handango also released a special edition of the Handango Yardstick with data and trends for all of 2002. Handango powers the software and digital media stores for some of the biggest brands in the mobile software market including Nokia, Motorola, Kyocera, Palm, Sony, Microsoft, Handspring, HP, Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile USA, Orange and more than 100 others. Data in the Handango Yardstick reflects sales from these and other stores and across all major mobile operating systems including Java, Symbian, Palm OSŪ, Pocket PC, Linux and others." The 4th quarter one is here, while the 2002 one is here. Each are graphical one-pagers, and have some interesting factoids. In particular, the mobile software market, according to them, increased by 40% over 2001.
