Default Aliph Jawbone Prime: Less Noise, Lots of Loud Colors

http://news.digitaltrends.com/news-...-of-loud-colors

"Mobile audio developer Aliph has announced its new Jawbone Prime noise-canceling Bluetooth headset, promising an order of magnitude improvement in noise reduction, plus a swath of fashionable colors to appeal to even the pickiest fashionistas. Aliph's original Jawbone headset was released about a year ago to solid reviews; the Jawbone Prime aims to improve on the original with improved noise reduction that takes out an additional 6 to 9 db of background noise while leaving the speaker's voice strong and clear."

I guess design and fashion is everywhere right down to our Bluetooth headsets. The Jawbone Prime sounds like it may have some great functionality as well as fashion. I'm pretty satisfied with my current Bluetooth headset but I can't say it's completely noise free. And $129.99 seems reasonable for quality and design. How about you? Happy with your current headset or do these look tempting?

I rather hope it now supports the A2DP profile like my Jabra BT8040 -- if I could have noise reduction and high-quality transferred sound I would consider the Jawbone.

Update: -- it looks like it doesn't -- at least there is no indication of such on the site pr PR release.

Thumbs down Not impressed...

When I needed a new headset recently, I ordered the Jawbone 2 (the immediate predecessor to the Prime unit... the same physical design) and regardless of all of the different earpieces and ear clips, I could not get a decent fit. Regardless of what I did, the thing would feel like it was falling out whenever I moved my head (and several times, it did fall out).

Some people swore by using some Jabra earpieces in place of the ones that came with it, but I figured that if this was supposed to be such an engineering marvel, you shouldn't have to jerry-rig it to get it to work. It went back and I ordered a Plantronics Discovery 925, and I love it. It has a new type of earpiece that provides a snug fit in your ear without cramming it into your ear canal or using an ear clip. There's no threat of it falling out at all. I got it to fit right away, without all of the screwing around that I did with the Jawbone to no avail. And the noise cancellation is very effective.

The 925 may not be as flashy as the Jawbone, but it sure does the job for me.

I'm with you, Doug... I could never get the Jawbone to fit for me either, and it was just as in-effective dealing with wind-noise while I'm bike riding as any other headset. Personally, the best fit for me has come from the Helium Digital HD-650. Even without a hook, it stays put in my ear, very comfortably, even while riding! I love it.
