I like Alarm Master. It's quick, simple, versatile, and inexpensive. The new version has a variety of options without weighing down my smartphone since it's only a 280 KB download. The new "set your own icon" feature is cool. Lots of icons to choose from. It's probably going to replace my Fizz Traveller since I really only use Fizz for multiple alarms anyway. Now through July 5th Alarm Master is only $8.25. Now where are you going to get an alarm clock with this many functions for under $10? If Alarm Master is what you've been looking for, you can purchase your own copy at our affiliate store.

I've been using the one that comes pre-loaded on the BlackJack. It doesn't have this many features but it's been pretty good. Perhaps it's time to try something new.

If you get a minute would you mind trying something? Set an alarm and put your phone in silent mode. Then try one with your phone in vibrate. Mine has an audible alarm in both scenarios. I use phoneAlarm and am wondering if that has some affect.

Hi Scott, no matter what profile I put my Dash in, it still plays an audible sound. However, one of the options I have is to tell the app itself what tone to play including vibrate. If I set it to the vibrate setting within the actual app, it will vibrate. This is a general setting for all alarm clock alarms. I wish I could set each alarm seperately with a different ring tone including vibrate. Maybe a future update? Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps. I sent a message to support about this. I really can't use it if I can't silence/vibrate the alarms effectively (i.e. without changing the individual alarms).

I suggested Alarm Master respect the current profile setting. If the phone is set to sound, AM should produce sound. If the phone is set to vibrate, AM should vibrate. If the phone is set to silent, AM should be silent.

Hopefully they can do that--I like the aplication.

While I agree that it should respect the current profile, there are some alarms that you want to be audible regardless of the profile. I set my phone to silent when I go to sleep at night. If the alarm didn't override that setting I would never get up on time. :lol:

Earlier we intentionaly include sound settings for alarms(different from current profile) because received several complaints from users of our other utilities: they said that alarm should sound even if Silent-mode is activated.

Later we added support of standard Silent-profile. There is special setting in General Options which allows you to define the behaviour if Silent-profile is activated.

But it seems this is not an universal solution: at first some user, like you, use special programs that adds new profiles, at second - different alarms may have different 'importance': some should respect current sound settings, but others should play in any case.

Currently we think over this issue and would like to find and implement universal behaviour. Perharps we add few things in further releases:
1) Priorities. For example High-priority items will sound anyway etc.
2) Ability to configure sound parameter for alarms separately.
3) Add an option kinda 'Use current system sound' in sound configuration.

Perharps these options will help us to solve the problem. The final decision is not taken yet, so your comments are very useful!

Thank you for the explanation--that helps. Since I use phoneAlarm I keep forgetting I can set up customized profiles that could necessarily be done without it. Your potential solution sounds like a good one. I look forward to future development.

Hi Aleksandr, I would recommend a "Force Sound" option. Just add a simple checkboc on the alarms properties page that people can select and it would force sound regardless of the profile. Some Alarms I would like to ring no matter what - like my morning wakeup. Other alarms may not be as important. This would allow the person to pick a different setting for each alarm.

Yes, that's a good idea. It sounds like Aleksandr's #1 option above--just change the description from "High Priority" to "Force Sound". All other alarms could respect the current profile. It seems like the simplest solution for an already clean, simple application. We would not want to clutter it up too much and make it lose its appeal.

I will add that Aleksandr has been responsive in the past when I sent some support questions regarding v1.3. Good to see him posting here in the forums.
