Why do I have a Toshiba e310 in one pocket and a Pocketop keyboard in the other, when I'm lugging around a laptop?
W? BIC!
Well, because my sandisk SD cards keep going bad ;3

'Why are you jumping off a cliff?'

'Because I can.'

'Cool, I'll take pictures!'

I spent about a week trying to find some good piece of software to convert DVD's into MPEG1's to be able to watch them on my PPC using PocketTV. Well, after having converted about ten movies I still haven't watched any of them BUT I DID find a good use for this concept. After having connected the IPAQ to the 12V source in the car and after having tied the unit to a car seat my little two-year old daughter now enjoys the poor mans "in-flight entertainment" where she can watch childrens movies (in landscape mode) while I´m driving. It works just fine and I am really proud of my work.

(iPAQ 3850, PC-Card Sleeve, Toshiba 5GB HDD, iPAQ Overclock software, PocketTV software)

He he. I dread upgrading to a new PocketPC like I just did with an iPaq 5455. I figure that by the time I install all my apps and other configurations, including fixing crappy installer problems (I do like a clean, organized PocketPC), if I were to do it consecutively without stopping, it would take me 20-25 hours. I'm guessing 125 apps perhaps. And it's not just the big apps either. Its all those small utilities too, the ones without installers. Plus, there's config time. For instance, setting up mail accounts and, not only installing a news reader, but then configuring it with my newsgroups. Stuff like that. Config issues take almost as long as actual software installs.

Thank god for Pocket Backup. Without it, I'd have to kill myself if my PPC ever hard-resetted

Hehe! That's great. About five years ago, my dad wrote an article for the MG (the car) newsletter. It was called, "Why? Because we can!" It was all about how he and his other single-guy MG Club members decorate their homes with MG memorobilia, and parts, and trophys-- bascially tacky stuff that a wife would veto as far as home decoration.
For example, he got a friend to weld two ends of a bumper/trunk together and made a two-foot-wide plant pot. Lights, old license plate, and all. Why? Because he could.

Love it.

The big problem that I have is trying to get permission to buy a new PPC. W?BIC! doesn't work there, do you wiser, more experienced guys have any suggestions?

I guess it's a case of WN?BIC.

I can understand the view point of loving partners - I really can - Without being the ppc user it makes no sense.

However I can not understand this view being taken by male friends.

"You don't need a phone that can play music games internet etc. Why don't you just get a free one like us - you'll just break it you pisshead!"

This was the general consensus until I showed them adult video content.

Now 3 of them own PPCPE's -

W?BIC - we're a growing breed - find the right software interest and everyone:

W!YCT - Well! You Can Too
