Default Stereo headset and Mic splitter for 2.5mm jack

I am looking for a stereo headphone/microphone splitter for 2.5mm jack on my SDA. It might be 4 stage or 3 stage I am not sure, anything that'll let me have stereo output from one jack, and microphone input from another jack.

There are few being sold for about $15, but I was wondering if anyone actually ever tried them, and how well does the external mics work? I have the one that came with SDA from T-Mobile, it works OK, but I need to separate the MIC input and Headphone output, and possibly use another microphone.

This would be set up as microphone from one end and other end could connect to my stereo, when I have a call it can auto-pick up after 1 ring so I can hear the people from the speakers while talking to them without getting up. I am not sure if there will be a lot of echo, but I will give it a try.

using an external microphone + external speaker combo will make a lot of echo. enough to make you think that its not worth it. i've tried. me, i just stick to this wee little adapter i got for a dollar and i'm ready to go booming with my creative travelsound anywhere, anytime ^_^ when i get a call, i just remove the adapter and answer the call. don't want anybody to hear my calls anyway ^_^
