Default Over The Air sync for Windows Mobile?

What are my options for Over The Air syncing of my Fuze and notebook computer?

I use Outlook for all of my contacts, email, calendar, tasks, and RSS feeds..

I'd love to be able to update any and all info between devices immediately, whether I am adding a new appointment on my phone, or deleting tasks on my notebook.. Everything should just sync..

Right now I have to hook up via USB to do this.. Normally not a problem, but I have an extended battery and sometimes I go 3 or 4 days without having to charge.. My calendar syncs with my wife's calendar on her desktop computer, so there are times I may miss appointments..

Thanks,

-Matthew

Was really BUMMED OUT when MS took away the ability to perform a WiFi Sync!

In fact, kept an older version of ActiveSync on my Axim simply to maintain that ability - and then started running into problems with apps that would not load unless they found the new version of AS on your device... [Work-arounds were always available, but sometimes not immediately following an update.]

One possibility to sync "wirelessly" would be to connect using Bluetooth - if lucky, your Notebook has bluetooth built in, if not you could buy an USB-to-bluetooth adapter. (Have used an USB-to-IR adapter to connect my Axim to a desktop system ever since the dreaded-crushed-pins problem struck it.)

Also think that you can sync through an Exchange Server over a wireless wifi connection.

Could also check out Windows Live for Mobile - it promises various "Connections," but have not taken the time to understand exactly what it purports to do.

We have started using Google Calendar - in addition to Gmail - for the ability to check each other's calendar from any convenient internet machine (although we only show "9 to 5" appointments at this time). Seem to recall reading that Google was working on a way to sync between their web services & a mobile device - but then Google seems to be working on EVERYTHING at some point in time.

Probably have missed some options here (3rd Party Sync Software?), but brain is fried right now... Try searching the forum (or general internet).

Good Luck - and let us know if you find a workable solution!

I am also interested in knowing about any options for this type of syncing. Although I have been using WinMo for many years, I have always relied on the daily USB sync to update my info. Recently, I strayed over to the dark side for a while and was using MobileMe to provide this function. It works great to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar but because I can't use the MobileMe email account for business, I was still missing the full sync experience.

As I work for a small company that does not have an Exchange Server setup, push email/sync has been but a dream. From what I have found so far, the only way to get true push email and sync capabilities on my Fuze would be to by an Exchange account subscription with a 3rd party supplier. This way I would be able to retain/use my business email address.
