Was really BUMMED OUT when MS took away the ability to perform a WiFi Sync!
In fact, kept an older version of ActiveSync on my Axim simply to maintain that ability - and then started running into problems with apps that would not load unless they found the new version of AS on your device...

[Work-arounds were always available, but sometimes not immediately following an update.]
One possibility to sync "wirelessly" would be to connect using Bluetooth - if lucky, your Notebook has bluetooth built in, if not you could buy an USB-to-bluetooth adapter. (Have used an USB-to-IR adapter to connect my Axim to a desktop system ever since the dreaded-crushed-pins problem struck it.)
Also think that you can sync through an Exchange Server over a wireless wifi connection.
Could also check out Windows Live for Mobile - it promises various "Connections," but have not taken the time to understand exactly what it purports to do.
We have started using Google Calendar - in addition to Gmail - for the ability to check each other's calendar from any convenient internet machine (although we only show "9 to 5" appointments at this time). Seem to recall reading that Google was working on a way to sync between their web services & a mobile device - but then Google seems to be working on EVERYTHING at some point in time.
Probably have missed some options here (3rd Party Sync Software?), but brain is fried right now... Try searching the forum (or general internet).
Good Luck - and let us know if you find a workable solution!
