I really don't find it that surprising, as Mobius is a mobile forum, not a Microsoft mobile forum, or even an MVP forum per se. These are folks that are influential in the mobile space, not by and large, MS zealots.
I was a bit confused by your having said this, but with that last comment by r90a22 I thought to look back at Jason's original post here to confirm a little itch... and sure enough:

I don't really find it that odd at all. I know too many tech-geeks that think you aren't a true techie unless you use the underdog (e.g. Apple, Linux). And way too many that think that OSX is the end-all be-all OS. While I actually disagree with these ideas, MS would do good to address this issue. Whether it's true or not, it would sure make me nervous if I worked for Microsoft.

Not sure why that should be that great a concern in this forum. Apple is not really kicking MS butt in the OS space. So there are people that like MACs. There are people that like Lexus too, and that doesn't especially worry Ford. You know, MS still sells a lot of software for Macs. What would be more interesting and significant to me would be what mobile device, or devices, are these folks packin'.

I would bet that almost every one of those Macs has at least one version of Windows installed on it (as mine does - I actually have two on my MB.) Microsoft shouldn't be too upset at that. Maybe upset at the mindshare issue, but I am sure that Microsoft is very happy to sell copies of Windows to us Mac users.

I don't get the surprise here. Its hosted by Microsoft yes. But the attendees are not Microsoft employees or (in some cases) Microsoft enthusiasts.
If you label the group as Press, then its not an issue or curiosity at all.

I'm gonna explain this in a way no one that knows me around here would expect...
It's a perfect demonstration of how irrelevant the desktop OS has become.
When you consider the volume of stuff you store in the cloud (God I hate that saying, btw, can someone please come up with a new one?), your OS is the browser and that's about it, which is why I think Google Chromium will be perfect for a good number of people with computers.
I don't think Microsoft should be the slightest bit concerned, but had they released this photo, it would've been pretty funny.

Just reading the fist sentence, thats the first thing that came to mind. How is that even possible running Macs, working for Microsoft. Don't they need to run Microsoft software on those things?
There's nothing preventing them from running Microsoft software on their Mac. I'm typing this on a 13" Macbook Pro running Windows 7 and it works splendidly. Personally I use a Mac because I like having the choice... there are some fantastic applications that are available only for OS X and there are some fantastic applications that are available only for Windows. Using the Mac lets me pick & choose the best of both worlds (and Linux too if I wish). Seemed like the best option to me.
Not sure why that should be that great a concern in this forum.
Well, I didn't bring it up, just commenting on it. Sorry if it's OT.

Point taken. However, aren't these the exact people Microsoft's trying to target? If I wrote an OS, and designated MVPs, and then hosted a party for them, I would be chagrined to see half of them (more than half in that photo) using someone else's OS. I would start thinking my OS sucked...

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one, Vincent. The desktop OS will always have a place, at least until 100% of the world has high-speed internet access (look for it in 2050!). My dad in northern California doesn't have access to anything resembling high-speed unless it's sattelite, which is ridiculously expensive compared to my connection at home. My dad lives only 50 miles north of San Francisco.
Besides, cloud computing is a cute but very stupid idea. Just ask any Sidekick owner.

I didn't mean this forum as in Thoughts Media, but as in Mobius. Shouldn't be a significant concern that Mobius members are diverse in their tech choices.

Once again, this is a Mobius forum, not an MVP one per se. Granted there are Mobile MVPs in the Mobius crowd, about 4 I recognize off hand, but that is not why they are there. As someone fairly accurately labelled them, these are Press, and thereby influencers, not fanboys, zealots, or evangelists.
