Default Remember the Milk For the iPhone Now Available

http://blog.rememberthemilk.com/200...-available.html

"We set about re-creating pretty much all of RTM on the iPhone, but that was a big (ahem) task! We recruited a new team member to help us (we didn't mention it at the time, but Ab's a Mac developer... we're sneaky like that). You know you've been staring at your iPhone just a tad too long when you reach out to tap an icon on your iMac screen, so we're happy to announce that we're finally done! The app is now available as a free download on the App Store for RTM Pro users."

Last year, Remember the Milk released one heck of a web-app version of their service for iPhone users.  I was very excited, signed up, and enjoyed it greatly.  Of course, that ended immediately upon entering the subway and realizing that there was no offline access.  On Wednesday, all that came to an end as RTM released the single most polished To-Do app thus far for the iPhone.  Gone is the need to be online with it, and the amount of features they've ported over from the service itself is awesome.  And it's free!  The catch, of course, is that you have to be a Pro account holder with Remember the Milk, but at $25 even that isn't such a bad deal, and considering Apple hasn't gotten off their collective bottoms and created an alternative, I'll be sticking with this one permanently.

Cool Zenbe

HELLO... Have you not seen Zenbe? No need to pay $25 a year, plus you can share your lists easily.

Zenbe may be great (I know one of the developers) but it's not what I was looking for. Zenbe isn't bad, but it's a bit too barebones for what I need it for. RTM is a really full-featured almost desktop-caliber to-do manager.

Not exactly Apples to Apples ;-)

HAH! I made a pun!

I use ToDo by Appigo which will allow you to sync with the online version of RTM or ToodleDo. I use ToDo as a stand alone version. Given Apple's pathetic attempt at tasks in iCal, I don't expect them to ever offer a task app for the iPhone.

I've used Zenbe in the meantime, but RTM looks like a cool app, but I'm not sure about having to pay the yearly fee.

I can't wait for Pocket Informant for iPhone...too bad it sounds like it's a while off from release.

DUUUURRR...I need to learn to read...I might actually check this out, it would be handy to be able to receive the SMS reminders and have a full featured Task application again.

Tim, I'm also waiting for PI for iPhone to make an appearance, having used the WM version for many years.

In the meantime, I needed to get a way of keeping my tasks organized and I'm using Toodledo which has proven to be a great application. Its iPhone app is pretty good and I use my Jott account to be able to phone in additions to my to-do list.

To be honest, the main reason I chose Toodledo over the other similar apps is that Alex has mentioned that PI is going to include sync with Toodledo and that the iPhone version of PI will retain most of the Toodledo functionality. See this thread on the PI forum: http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forum...howtopic=13440
