Default Pay With Amazon Mobile Payments Service

http://mashable.com/2009/10/05/amazon-mps/

"As the mobile landscape continues to expand, consumers are becoming increasingly comfortable making purchases over the web using their mobile phones. One of the reason's Apple App Store has been so successful is because of the easy, secure 1-click payment system tied into iTunes. Today, Amazon Payments is hoping to bring that kind of experience to other developers, merchants and potential app stores with the Amazon Mobile Payments Service (MPS)."

Unlike Google Checkout and PayPal, this type of service would be part of the application itself, and not a separate site. I like that aspect of it, being part of the site you are shopping at instead of having to go to another site to pay, seems a lot simpler and cleaner. And I suppose it is easier than having to pull out a credit card and input the number. I'm pretty sure I'd use this service if offered, what are your thoughts?

It does sound cool, but I'm still not 100% secure about these mobile payment services. How much protection will Amazon offer against fraudulent transactions? How easy would it be to turn off the service if your phone is stolen or lost? Are you stuck with the credit card company for any fraudulent use?
