Verizon iPhone Tonight at Midnight Pacific Time
"Verizon Wireless says it's ready for a rush of buyers in the next two weeks for Apple Inc.'s iPhone."
At 3am Eastern time we will see how ready they are as that is when they begin taking the orders from current customers. On February 10th they open it up to everyone so it will be interesting to see how the lines stack up to other similar events. Some analysts aren't so sure they can handle the demand, commenting that the Razr introduction in 2006 was enough to overload Verizon, and the iPhone launch is going to dwarf it. I'd have to agree, and I expect big lines, as well as technical problems. They always think they are ready until it hits them, just ask AT&T.
Update:
More info from this Mashable article:
"Apple has officially confirmed that Verizon customers will be able to pre-order the iPhone 4 online starting Thursday, February 3. The pre-orders, which will come on a first come, first served basis, will be available through the Apple Store and at www.verizonwireless.com/iphone.
On Wednesday, February 9, qualified customers will be able to order an iPhone 4 on Verizon through the Apple Store for delivery or reserve it for an in-store pick up the following day.
Finally, at 7 a.m. local time on Thursday, February 10, the iPhone 4 will be available to qualified customers at Apple’s retail stores, as well as more than 2,000 Verizon stores throughout the U.S."
