You have to crank your volume a bit, as TUAW says, but the sound is definitely there.  Sometimes I feel for Apple because they make good hardware, but the companies supplying the components that Apple doesn't have custom made (usually hard drives) just can't seem to get their stuff together.

Anyone out there have a 17" MacBook Pro with this issue?
