Default Apple Fan Creates his Own Mac Netbook

http://www.notebooks.com/2008/11/12...le-osx-netbook/

"Here are some pics of two MacBook Nano netbooks, which started life as a pair of MSI Winds. An Apple fanboy and his son applied a couple of stickers, stamped “MacBook Nano” on the bezel and installed OSX Leopard to complete the transformation."

Fake MacBook Nano

These MacBook Nanos look pretty good, almost genuine and if Apple was going to do a netbook, it might look something like this.  Given that Steve Jobs considers netbooks a nascent market, I doubt we'll see official MacBook Nanos anytime soon.  Still, it's great to get a look at what a possible Mac netbook would look like.  If I had need of a netbook, I would definitely buy something that looked like this that ran OS X.  Anyone else wishing Apple would pull the trigger on a new MacBook Nano?

I thought this was supremely cool when I read about it - it looks great!

Don't you still have a Wind?

And aren't there all kinds of Macintel distros out there you can just plop onto it?

Yup. And yes, I've pondered buying a copy of OS X and just playing with it...but I have so many other things that need doing that I haven't gotten around to trying it out. I also have little patience for long and complex hacks, which seem to be what is required to get OS X working on it.

I've been trying to get my hands on one of these. It's not that difficult to install OS X on a Wind. Need to upgrade the memory to 2GB, replace the internal wireless card (with one OS X recognizes) and get your hands on the modified Leopard install DVD for MSI Wind.
