I also agree, LogMeIn is great! I hadn't really needed to use it until a few months ago, since at home I had a public IP address and could forward ports and use Remote Desktop to access various workstations behind my router. But at college, I have less control, so LogMeIn works great.

I am. And my desktop is literally 3 feet away from the couch. I may have to look into this program.

I just did it. I first tried to do it using Netront but that didn't work.
After logging in through PIE, the WM app was downloaded and installed. I was remoting my laptop in minutes.

Default WM 5?

I liked logmein when I used PPC OS 2003SE, but I've been unable to get it to work on WM 5 (imate jasjar). Haven't really started searching for fixes but nothing I tried would allow it to work. I was able to log in, download and install the cab fle app, and then nothing.

i use logme in free on my homecomputer and pro on my work machine.

it works great and is fast. with cable connection its obvious, but it also works on my MDA mini over GPRS (i set the screensize to 75% for that).

you cant really use apps with that small screen but simple stuff like restarting a server or triggering scripts on the go does work and has made my life easier oftentimes now

Default amount of data transfered

Hi,
all this sounds good, I have been looking for similar solution for some time.
I am wondering how much data it usually transfers, could anyone make a little test for me please.
For instance make a connection from PDA to your desktop, open web browser type in www.pocketpcthoughts.com and let the page display.
How much data was tranfered?

Thanks

I just started using this product a few days ago after I saw their sponsored article on this forum. I must say that I am really impressed. I use a lot of spreadsheets for work and when I would try to go from Excel to Pocket Excel and vice versa, the formatting would get all screwed up. (A problem I am hoping is addressed when Verizon finally switches over to WM5 and allows its customers to upgrade - but that's a whole different thread....) With logmein, I can get on my work computer and open the spreadsheet as if I was sitting at my desk. They make it a little difficult to find the free version, but once you get it, it works like a charm. I am using it on my Samsung i730 to access my work computer while I am on the road. The thing that impresses me the most is that it works, even when I am connected to my office's VPN. (I work out of my home.) Most other VNC-type programs I have used would not connect to my computer when VPN was running. I have already recommended this to a couple of my friends with Pocket PCs.
