WiMAX is a broadband wireless technology that will work over distances of 1.8-6 miles at speeds approaching 40Mbps. Getting this technology into Blackberries will be a huge shot in the arm to the new wireless technology.
Oh, that's pretty interesting! Wimax looks really promising but aren't we still a long way from seeing this kind of service go live?
Also, will the price difference between this and cellular make Wimax attractive enough?
Lots of questions on this kind of wireless but I think it'll arrive at some point. Hopefully it will not be too expensive and have excellent unlimited pricing. :mrgreen:

Intel's marketing machine has been working overtime on this whole WiMax thing. Interesting since there isn't a single peice of WiMax equipment available yet. It's like they think by marketing it this way, people will believe it already exists.
