"Hopefully people haven't forgotten about us... I thought I'd drop a note to let everybody know that Pocket PC Addict (http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/www.pocketpcaddict.com) is back up and running. We were down for about six weeks due to an attack on the server. From what we could learn from the logs, someone had stolen a password, compromised a DNS server and used it to backend into our main site causing all sorts of trouble for us and other web servers. The data center we were using at that time set us back an additional two weeks by unplugging our server and denying us access.
Even though we suffered some significant setbacks such as corrupted backup tables, scripts that were working against us and a data center that was not cooperating, we were encouraged by the Pocket PC community to bring it back up. So, instead of packing up our tents and going home, we moved the addict site and all of its services to a nice new (security focused) data center with much better support for challenges like these. Server security is no small matter, which is why I'm so grateful to have Jorj, Janak, Jon and Fabrizio helping keep our two servers secured.
