Default Win Free Software From MotionApps

No matter what kind of Windows Mobile-Powered device you've got, there are some kinds of applications you simply MUST have in order to get the most out of it. We could debate until the cows come home what the most important applications are, but the folks at MotionApps have done a pretty good job developing a handsome set of "must-haves" for Pocket PC Phone Edition and SmartPhone devices.

mRing ($19.99) is a ringtone manager that lets you assign any MIDI, WAV, WMA or MP3 file as ringers.
mVoiceMail ($19.99) enables you to play voicemail messages that you receive attached to regular e-mails.
mSafe ($16.99) helps you remotely lock your device or delete all of its stored information via SMS messages.
mVoice ($24.99) lets you record phone calls, create voice memos and manage recording files easily.

You can download free demo versions of these applications or buy the full versions from the MotionApps Web site. MotionApps really wants to help you get your hands on their software, so they've offered to give each of FIVE lucky Thoughts readers a free copy of any one of these four applications. Here are the simple rules for the giveaway:

• To enter, post a reply to this thread, mentioning which of the four titles you would find most useful and specifically why/how it would be a "must-have" for you.
• Please enter only ONCE (e.g., one post).
• All entry posts must be received by 12:01am EST on March 15, 2007.
• The five winners will be randomly selected from among all the entries.
• Make sure to ponder exactly what time it is when cows actually DO come home.

Good luck, and have fun!

There have been dozens of times that I would have loved to be able to record a conversation (usually when calling up customer support and eventually being told something that they later deny). Having that recording would make it so that at least they would have to accept some responsibility. So, mVoice would be awesome to have.

Default mSafe +1

mSafe is a must. I am still concerned to loose my device and have all my data left to the finder...

mVoice would be great.
There are always situations when ability to record the conversation would come in really handy, for instance when someone gives you an address or a phone number and you are unable to write it down.

I'd like to have mRing, so that I can tell who is calling by assigning them silly tunes, rather than having to look at their photos. A safety mechanism for when I'm driving!

Oh, and they probably come home when it is time to be milked

A few weeks ago I lost my device. The leather case I had for it, had broken off from my belt clip.

I spend the next 3 hours trying to find it, or trying to see if it had been handed in. No joy. It is a very scary feeling knowing all your private info is on a single device, and not being able to do anything about it to ensure the info is wiped. I also felt numb for the rest of the day.

If I had known about mSafe this would be the killer app. This is what I would want. To ensure I could protect and remove my information.

mVoice would the program of choice for me. I'd love a more robust app than the built in voice recorder to record and keep track of my recording.

mSafe would be perfect for me. I have too many sensitive items on my Treo 700Wx, and if it were lost, I'd want that added protection.

Default just a clarification

They claim that mVoicemail is the only app to listen to email attached voice mail messages. This is categorically untrue. You can use TCPMP to play CCITT ulaw wav files. Its free BTW.
