I just got a reply to a number of questions I asked by email, which I include here for your interest:

My name is Leslie and I would be happy to assist you. I believe the selection of your device iPAQ 4150 would have been a mistake as the software is compatible only on Pocket PC Phone Edition devices on GSM Networks.
To survive Hard-resets, the software had to be installed into your Ext.ROM and so you can remove it as well if you wish to.
We have taken maximum possible steps on hiding the software from the thief by the device. If the Service Provider notifies on every SMS or any of that kind, we can't help it. We are trying to block this notification also, probably in our next or future releases.
Regarding the Anti-piracy feature, we have temporarily holded off the method regard Legal issues on disabling the device. Instead of Disabling, we have made to Hard-reset the device alone.
Final note, having the software is just like a watchdog. A dog cannot assure 100% that your home cannot be robbed. Just like that, the software will not provide 100% guarantee but helps you in chances. Normally the thieves will not be much educated about Pocket PC devices and so it maybe un-likely for him to look for such softwares.
Hope I have explained all what you have required. Let us known if we could help you further. Take care & have a blessed day.

Actually, the question regarding the SMS I asked was about the situation if the provider issues a detailed statement of account activity. A minor quibble.
About the watchdog analogy - as I understand it, if you break into my house, and my dog bites you (presumably the rottweiller cross, rather than the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) you can sue me for damages.
Oh well, as I am happy with my h4150 for the moment, don't consider me for the prize. 0X
