http://www.microsoft.com/usa/webcasts/upcoming/1872.asp

"Are you interested in getting your Pocket PC online to either the internet or your corporate LAN? This is your opportunity to learn how to connect your Pocket PC using everything from a 56K Compact Flash Modem and a phone line to a Bluetooth enabled cell phone with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to get access to your email and other important information no matter where you are."

And of course, I'll give you the full rundown on changes in the Pocket PC 2003 Connection Manager. :way to go:

Today, June 25 at 1:00pm Eastern Time, 10:00am Pacific Time and will last 90 minutes. See you there!

So what's 1:00 pm Eastern time in GMT?

O dear, I'll have to look it up like all those other people in Europe /China/India/Russia etc. *sigh*

Well, normally Eastern is -5 GMT (learned that setting the time on my Pocket PC!). However, now we are in Eastern Daylight Time which is an hour ahead...so, perhaps that would be -4 8O Makes my head hurt just thinking about it... Time to get some coffee. :morning:

You could change your Pocket PC to the eastern time zone, enter the appointment for 1:00pm and then change it back to your timezone. That will tell you exactly when it is.

Or get CityTime.

Is this taking lemons and making lemonaide? Though I've not messed with it much for traveling, I've heard a lot of complaints about appointments changing time.

I've never used CityTime, but looking at the screenshots, I've always liked the daylight/dark view.

And this is your chance to see how WRONG those people are. Timezone handling in the Pocket PC is great. It is just hard getting some people to admit it. :frusty:

Will this be archived for later viewing? And will it cover the PPC2003 version of connection mangler? It took me an age to set up everything in 2002, so it would be nice to get a head start on 2003.

Glad you mentioned this...I've never watched one of these and now I've got a great reason. I need to see if you match that scary photo from the Can You "Guess The Geek?" contest. Rats...your photo seems to be missing, Ed.

I listened to it Ed and I really enjoyed it. However, I submitted a trivial question that apparently did not have time to be answered: Will there be an SD 56K modem? This seems like the easiest solution, but unfortunately I don't have a CF slot in my Pocket PC...
