Let me start by stating that the Thoughts Team is VERY happy with the response that we got to the New Year's Day Giveaway Extravanganza. The various contests spurred unprecedented traffic to this site and to the sites of our great supporters who contributed prizes. We are also VERY glad that our readers seemed to really enjoy this first attempt at such an event; after all, this site is here for YOUR enjoyment.
I do have to apologize, though, for some confusion around one of the contests. When it came time to figure out who the winners were, I tabulated the results differently than some readers had expected; as a result, there was a bit of arguing among a few people who felt they deserved a prize. Happily, the prize's developer stepped in and offered to give a prize to all of the disputed winners, so those involved should be getting an e-mail from him soon.
I guess one of the things we'll do differently next time is to make sure that
Giveaway Rule Number One is more carefully articulated

. Even though the Thoughts Team had to sift through thousands of posts in order to give away over 200 prizes, I got some pretty outlandish messages from some people:
• "I really don't want this software. Can I substitute a different one from the same developer?"
• "I know I entered this contest, but my device isn't compatible with the prize."
• "Can you tell me the best way to try to sell my prize?"
• "The winners were announced over 2 hours ago, and I still haven't gotten my prize...What's up with that?"
So, to the 99.999923% of you who enjoyed the giveaways, I say: Terrific! we appreciate your patience and patronage!
To the few whiners out there, I say: This Pocket PC hobby is supposed to be fun. Lighten up!
And have some cheese.
