Default (Space)Time for a Giveaway!

http://www.spacetime.us/

"SpaceTime 3.0 by SpaceTime Mathematics is a revolution in mathematics software with 2D, 3D, and time graphing with MobileCAS® for algebra and calculus. With features only available in Mathematica and MATLAB, SpaceTime is the most powerful cross-platform mathematics software ever developed for computers and mobile devices."

We're back with more copies of SpaceTime 3.0 to give away! Just like the contest that was held in May, we have one all-platforms license and two platform-specific licenses up for grabs. And, as always, the rules are simple. We've adopted a back-to-school theme for this contest, so to be in the running, simply make a post in this thread telling us how you'd use SpaceTime in an educational setting (or a commercial setting, if you're not a student or academic), and also the answer to "cos (0 degrees)", because we know you love number crunching.

You have until 11:59am (GMT) on Monday, September 1, 2008 to get your entries in. Winners will be announced the following week. Good luck!

My older son is going to be starting algebra this year, and visualization is the best way of working through some of this stuff. I'd put this on my back-up Pocket PC for him to be able to use to help with his homework!

Oh, and Cos (0) = 1

Default Personalization strategies and high school math tutoring

I'm not in an academic setting, so personally I'd use it to test out new ideas for my company's personalization engine. I'd use the scripting capabilities to build on the fundamental matrix support to model new recommendation approaches.

I'd also take advantage of the great graphing capabilities to help my fiancée's little brother with his math homework. He's just starting high school this year.

cos(0 degrees) = 1

Thanks!

Default spacetime 3

I've got two kids in school, this would come in very handy for homework help, explaining mathematical concepts, etc.

It's also just cool.

cos(0)=1

Hi,
my youngest son is just about to start a maths degree at university, and I think this would be ideal for the PocketPC I have just given him

Also - cos(0)=1

Thanks

Default Oh my cosinus!

I am an economist and I do use Maple for computing on my PC. But I do not always have access to my PC when I am thinking about models (I can do it in very strange places, at very strange hours...). Having such a powerful tool under my hand, on my PPC, would definitely allow me to test even stranger places...

By the way, after four hours of computations, Maple tells me that Cos(0)=1.000000000000. I am sure, the computation would have been much more efficient with SpaceTime!

Best regards,

Murat

I am a first year teacher - in fact my first day was August 11! The students I teach are emotional behavior disorder boys who always need a reason to learn. If I was able to perform calculations on my Axim X50v that provided concrete visual results, I think their interest level in math would go up. This program - and the ability to use a portable projector with my handheld - would provide endless opportunities to increase their interest and performance in math.

cos(0) = 1

I also have two boys in school. This software would allow me to help them and myself learn more.

I would only need a ppc version. I have looked at this software several times in the past. It does indeed look very impressive.

The answer is one (1).

I would use Space Time to graphically represent production machine data gathered in the field, where I don't have access to my work desktop.
