In October of 2000 I still had my first computer; a Casio E-115. Sold it in mid-November that year, when my new Casio EG-800 arrived. The paper daytimer bit the dust in May, the 15th if memory serves (which it probably doesn't... the biggest part of why I got into PPCs in the first place), when my E-115 arrived and immediately proved far more reliable in having me be home when clients arrived with basses needing repairs. Daytimers just don't beep.

I didn't join here until 2002 it seems. Wonder why not? I was a member of pocketpcpassion by October 2000, and also PDABuzz, maybe even of Brighthand, but for some reason overlooked this site for a while longer.

Hmmm. I had multiple devices. I cannot recall what cheapo cell phone I had at the time (some Samsung clunker), but I am pretty sure that I had a Compaq Aero 1520 pocket pc. Soon thereafter to be upgraded to the Ipaq models when they came out.

That would have been the ol'daytimer, outlook, & cell phone for me, but having my PIM data in 2 places was driving me crazy. An iPaq 3650 was in my immediate future.

Default Day Timer

In 2000, it was a DayTimer in hand and Info Select on the desktop. Those were the days! I'll never go back!

Back then I was still using a Philips Nino. I have graduated to everything since but the Nino is still my daily alarm clock waking me up every morning at 0400-0430.

Cool Device used when site was launched

I was using an Ipaq 5555. Still one of the best devices made. I still use it for GPS with Tom Tom bluetooth and software.

Default 2000

Had a Palm PC.

What a crude device compared to today's.

It was my first handheld device and it lit the fire inside me that started me on my Pocket PC progression of devices..

Those we're the "Good Old Days"??

Please enter my for a chance to win the HTC Touch Cruise....

Thanks,

laubin

Oh it was terrible. I don't think I even had my first pda until 2002 or so. I'm a private piano teacher and, to cancel their lessons, students would give me little sticky notes with the dates they couldn't make it. They would end in the wash and I would end up going to their house anyway, even though they wouldn't be there.

Default Happy Birthday

In October I was still using a piece of paper folded into quarters. In November I bought my first Compaq iPaq. Shortly after that I found Jason's blog.
