I tried Copilot & sent it back immediately. My address didn't even show up.

Default Backpacking

I once wasted over an hour trying to find where a forest service road intersected the main highway on a backpacking trip. A GPS would have been real welcome.

Driving through Cincinnati about 7 or 8 years ago, had a print-out from some map program (likely Streets 'n Trips). It tried sending me down a street that didn't exist and I nearly had some crumpled metal. It would have been the map's fault, not mine, right? I could have sued Microsoft, right?! With these geewhizbang gogogadgets, we never get lost, right guys?!

To me, the best use of GPS is to find restaurant when I am traveling. I assume it is also true for most people. By the way, I have never got lost with a GPS with me, except when the battery was running out.

I do currently have GPS softwar, but would really like to have some updates. I use it ALL of the time, just to know how much further it is to wherever I am going...really impresses my kids!

Well while I don't get lost to often (making sure to look up direction before leaving) I have to admit having to call my destination more than once to get me back on track. A wireless solution would sure be nice.

Oh two times I can remember.
1) Going to ANY new place. I live on Oahu (That's in Hawaii for those going huh?) I can't remember street names or places. I'm stupid that way. I couldn't wait to get a GPS to help me find where I needed to go somewhere new. Many one way streets in town.

2) When I went to California. ANYTIME I wanted to go somewhere. Google maps and Yahoo maps don't help you when you're scared to get onto a freeway with 6 lanes. Not that some GPS programs will tell you what lane to be in, but looking at a piece of paper while driving can't be good.

I use live.com maps with 6mb buffering so I can pre-buffer satellite views without needing a network.

The problem is when I try to show a person the GPS on my iPAQ 614C, unless I have the area pre-buffered then I cant show any views. Sometimes I have to say "Sorry - I didnt buffer the area"

This program is neat since It has the maps (and from what I can see on the website - POIs) on the MicroSD card in ROM. This is just what I need.
