Default Macromedia's Pocket PC Content Contest

http://www.macromedia.com/mobile/special/contest/

"It's time again for another mobile Flash contest where you get to roll up your sleeves and show the world your Flash developer skills. This time it's all about Pocket PCs and what you can do with some creativity and Flash. As a developer you may have created already or want to create some really cool Flash content for Pocket PCs, and now you have a chance to win some great prizes for your efforts."

It's been one month since Macromedia's "Pocket PC Content Contest" opened, yet I don't think it's received a lot of exposure, so it's time for a bit of pimpin'! Only in the past couple of years has Flash started to strut its stuff, and with mobility being a key path followed by many, it's only a matter of time before mobile Flash content becomes a standard. This is something Macromedia (or dare I say, Adobe) want to promote. Their contest is open to all mobile Flash developers in the following categories: most innovative use of Flash, best animation, best business application, best educational content, best game, best interactive content, best productivity application, and best overall use of Flash. So what's on offer? The grand prize is a plasma TV, and individual category winners will receive an iPod Mini. All qualified entries will be highlighted in Macromedia's Pocket PC Exchange, and you'll get a cool Macromedia T-shirt too. Despite the fact that there are some awesome prizes on offer, I think this contest is a good experience for many developers looking to widen their bases. Personally, I can't wait to see the qualified entries (yes, in case you haven't worked it out yet, I love Flash)!

The final date for submission is the 15th of June, 2005 at 11:59PM PST. Winners will be announced on the 29th of June, 2005. If you wish to read the announcement or view an Adam Sandler look-alike, click here. Otherwise, full details on the contest can be seen here. Happy Flashing!

Happy Flashing

I thought that this was supposed to be a clean website (ish).

I never thought of that when posting. But if you want to look at it from that perspective... :duh:

I just installed Flash on my x50v for the first time and I've been surprised to see that in PIE the animations aren't double-pixeled but with a higher resolution! It's true that with a vector system it's easy to do, but it's suprisingly thoughtful to have done it, especially considering the limited features of PIE...

Anyway, I retrieved some games I made in flash for the Pocket PCs 1 or 2 years ago. If you have a little time to spare they might be worth trying!

It's worth a shot! I'll probably optimize one of them or "just" build a new one...
