How come all forums (fora ?) have the same user interface for registering the user, submitting the reply etc? Excuse my ignorance but is there some sort of forum-builder freeware technology which is in use?

Do you see that text at the bottom of the page that says "Powered by phpBB 2.0.4 © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group"? Click the link there and see what happens. :-)

Okay, so this is what it is. 8)
Now if we could just share the registrations from board to board...That would be cool (Save the privacy issues.).

You probably can. That's what Microsoft Passport and the Liberty Alliance Project are for. You'd just need to convince the board owners to use those services. :-)

Yeah and a few $$$$. I don't know what Liberty wants for "membership" but we looked into MSFT's deal and it was obvious they weren't into little guys like us.
