Our fourth giveaway is from Two Peaks, the makers of many fine software programs. By far my favourite, and one I use 10+ times a day, is FlexWallet 2005. It's a fantastic application for storing passwords, banking information, credit card numbers, and anything else you can think of. I use it to keep track of everything from how many ink cartridges I have for my printers, affiliate links, and Web site login info, to all the data about our two dedicated servers. Two Peaks has given us five copies of FlexWallet 2005 to give away, with an added bonus: the winners will also get a guanranteed upgrade to FlexWallet 2006, due out in November. I'm using the beta right now, and all I can say is wow. :-)
The winners, through a random drawing of all subscribers and the postcards that were sent in, are as follows: ajmaggs, chasmanor, cludwig, Rod3, and TheRedJet. If you're a winner, you'll receive an email in the next 72 hours with details on how to claim your prize. Congratulations!
If you want to be in the running for the next contest in this series, you can either become a subscriber or follow the instructions in this post and send me a postcard. Stay tuned for the next contest!

I completely agree. This has got to be one of my most-used apps on both my laptop and Pocket PC. I always use different passwords for websites now, knowing that I won't have to remember them - I'll just open up FlexWallet if I need to login and my password isn't saved in Firefox. This is a great program with great security and an intuitive interface.
Jason, I respect you a lot, but for awhile now you've been praising Two Peaks software in a number of posts and each time I wince, and swear I'll get around to posting what I'm about to type:
For quite a while, Two Peaks was, IMO, the best PPC software developer out there. Not only did they offer great quality software, but great support too. Things have gone down hill lately, and because they hardly ever reply to emails and have long ago removed their bullitin board, maybe you can get word to them that a lot of their longtime customers feel abonandend. Here are some of th major issues:
-They stopped responding to any non-technical issues via email.
-Responses to uestions about technical issues are delayed, and generally repaet their FAQ's (which, in my case have already been tried)....the owner (Mel) used to call personally when there was a problem!!
-They completely removed their support bullitin board with no notice or explanation.
-They have been promising a pay for support via phone for about a year now.
-Updates for their products are severly delayed. For example, BillRate, a program I use to invoice clients, has some severe flaws, yet the last update was May 10th 2004 and they ignore qurries as to their intent for that software. Flex Wallet 2005 is good and stable, why focus on developing a 2006 version when other of their products are in more need of attention?
Again, I only post this here because of your repeated praise for Two Peaks. Since you have such a good relationship with them, perhaps you can get word to them to answer some questions? They could reply to this thread and/or PM me. Sorry to bother you with this, and thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how to respond to this. I can't speak for Two Peaks, and I can't defend them. I can only judge the quality of a developer based on two things:
1) What I think of their applications
2) How they treat me
In the case of Two Peaks, I think their applications are superb, and Mel has always treated me fairly.
All of the issues that you raise are ones that I have no experience with in regards to Two Peaks, but more to the point, all are quality of service and customer service related issues which means they're subjective. Neither Spb Software House nor many other major developers have forums, so I don't think that not having forums = bad developer are you're implying.
As for the rest of the issues, I'm not sure how you expect me to respond - I've never used BillRate, but I do use FlexWallet all the time, so I for one and thrilled to see FlexWallet 2006 come out. I'm sure like all developers Mel has limited resources and he does what's best for his business, and not updating a certain application doesn't make him a bad developer.
At any rate, I've passed this thread URL to Mel and I hope he responds, but even if he doesn't, you won't see me blacklisting TwoPeaks like I think you want me to.

Two Peaks had forums, which Mel was fairly active in, and they were removed. Not horrible in and of it self, but part of a trend with Two Peaks (along with lack of response to emails, promissed phone support, etc. etc.)
I indicated Flex Wallet is a stable and mature program, and any update (in this case, FlexWallet 2006) is usually a good one, but BillRate is much more in need of attention. Perhaps BillRate didn't sell well, and is not going to be updated supported anymore soon, but if so, let us know so we can move on to other applications.
I never wanted you to blacklist TwoPeaks. My hope was that, since you seem to have open communication with TwoPeaks, that you could get word to them that I, for one, had some questions that weren't getting answered and some concerns. TwoPeaks may treat you a little differently than standard users because you run a site such as this (and a great site it is). You forwarded the URL to them, and that's all I can ask for. Thanks for that!
I hate to sound impatient, but did I get overlooked? I know it takes a long time to implement these, but I didn't want to be missed in the rush.
Thanks!
