Default Getting Close to MDC Time...

http://www.mobilitydevcon.com/inter...al/?pin=corp123

All of your mobile developers must be positively vibrating with excitement over the upcoming Microsoft Mobility Development Conference! Not being a developer, I'm merely twitching, but from everything I've heard, these events are fantastic for getting prepared for what's coming down the pike and for networking with other mobile device developers. Here are the events, and there's one in almost every corner of the globe. Anyone here planning on going?

US: March 18–21, 2003
New Orleans, LA

Europe: March 31–April 2, 2003
Paris, France

Japan: April 25, 2003
Tokyo, Japan

Korea: April 29, 2003
Seoul, Korea

If you haven't already, check out Derek Mitchell's summary from last years event.

I'm dying to go, but can't. Unless you can find a corporate sponsor for me... I could sell advertising space on my Pocket PC. Premium space is available on my Tablet PC!

Make sure you take good notes for us!

I'll be there (US event). Unfortunately that's also around the time we could be at war so hope that isn't distracting....

Now that we have an MS person posting here, time for the million dollar question. When oh when will be finally able to buy a SmartPhone here in the US?! Last we heard was Q1 2003. Come on now, we are half way through that. At least tell folks when it is coming so that it delays people looking at alternative Symbian based phones. Please please please do tell us when we see it here

I think I'll be starting my first PocketPC project around that time... It would be nice to go. I'll see what I can do.

ShivShanks, sorry, but I don't know any dates for U.S. launch other than what you've heard. I know, frustrating for me too!

Next Friday I'm headed to Germany to visit my www.BluetoothNews.com partner and to attend the CeBIT show in Hannover. From there, I'm going down to New Orleans for CTIA and the Microsoft Mobility DevCon. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Hal Goldstein - the Pubisher of Pocket PC Magazine will also be at the DevCon.
