This seems like a fun way for Intel to help raise awareness about their Centrino technology and to get people interested in using public WiFi hotspots. You don't have to visit the special events in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle in order to participate in the free access.

Heh. When I saw the headline, I thought the purpose was to encourage everyone to not use the Internet for a day. Sort of like "Turn off your TV Day" or "Buy Nothing Day." Except unplugging from the Internet for a day would be a lot harder.

The impression I get from reading the site is that anybody who has the capability to connect to a hotspot will be able to do so for free. It doesn't specifically mention Pocket PCs, but I know that I can usually connect to the hotspots at Starbucks, hotels, etc.

LOL! I just got a Powerbook G4 a few weeks ago and I think I'll do the same. Wouldn't it be fun to have a "No Intel Inside" sticker plastered on the Powerbook? :lol:
