This giveaway is ONLY open to current owners of a Dell Axim! In order to be eligible for the random selection (and to make sure that only Axim owners win), you must:

2. Include "Axim Coverup" in the Subject line
3. In the body of the e-mail include your Axim's alphanumeric serial number which is found under the battery on the back of the device (I won't use this for anything other than to confirm your device type)
4. Entries must be recieved before 1:00am MST Sunday, January 26, 2003.

You may only enter one device. You may only enter once. You may not question the selection of the winners. You may not whine. Pocket PC Thoughts is not a democracy, and members of the editorial team reserve the right to change our minds and these rules indiscriminantly.

Do you have a link to purchase for 19.95? They are listed as 27.95 on their website.

Sorry, that was my mistake. The $19.95 is only for some models. The Axim is $27.95.

I was wondering because when I first looked I thought the $27.95 was a bit much since other models which had more cutting (ie for the D-pad) were priced lower.

Default Serial Number

Okay, stupid question...

Exactly which number is the serial number?

I have two tags, the top one has a service tag number and an express service code, the bottom tag has a really long alphanumeric number.

I didn't see anything in the manual to tell me which number is actually the serial number.

Help appreciated

Thanks,

Keith

Returning my Axim tomorrow

And sorry to stray OT, but I have a belt clip problem w/ my iPAQ case and was wondering if anyone has had the same prob. Here's the letter I just sent Whitney:

----------------------------------------
I love the Krusell slide swivel clip that came with my Whitney CF Sleeve, I also use it with my cellphone (I’ve bought just about all of the Krusell Multidapt series of clips).

Unfortunately the clip that came with my PDAmotion Silver Slider w/ leather cover, while similar, doesn’t seem to be 100% identical (I think someone said this clip is made by www.theclip.com ). As far as I can figure out, the Krusell ring tab that slides into the belt clip is thicker than the tab for the other one.

Anyways, a few weeks ago I accidentally inserted the Whitney sleeve into the PDAmotion belt clip, and now it won’t come off! Apparently pushing that belt clip’s spring release doesn’t lower the notch enough for the Krusell tab to get free. But I don’t want to pull on it too hard for fear of disfiguring the CF slot.

I’m out of ideas, so I plan to try cutting the PDAmotion belt clip off with a hack saw or something. But I wanted to see if you would have any suggestions first.
----------------------------------------

Conversely I'm also using the Krusell belt clip w/ the PDAmotion SS sleeve. It works better but is somewhat loose, and I've had incidents with the SS sleeve accidentally coming off the Krusell clip by itself (not often though).

I wish they would show a better picture of the cover on their site...

Even if I don't win, i'll probably order one.

My Axim is still in Dell limbo, but I wanted to ask a question about this cover since I've had my eye on it for a while: won't the hinge interfere with peripherals in the CF slot? Ex. Wi-Fi CF cards usually stick out some from the top; same with many Bluetooth cards.

Also, Brad: any way I can enter the drawing before my Axim arrives? How about a screenshot of the Dell order status page listing my order?

I sent in my entry twice -- I forgot to put my username down on it the first time.
