Microsoft is throwing the first-ever European Pocket PC FanFest! If you're in the Hannover area, register for the event. I dearly wish I could be there, but I'll be flying home Thursday morning from Mobius Europe. Mobius Europe you might ask? Next post explains it all...
When: Thursday March 14, 19:00 pm Where: Diskothek Xcelsior, Bahnhofstrasse 8, 30159 Hannover What: "A Pocket PC Fan Fest is a night of fun and friends, as people meet and talk about all things Pocket PC! There will be chances to win prizes and many more suprises during the night. Don't forget to bring your Pocket PC because that is your ticket for food and fun at the first ever European Pocket PC Fan Fest!"
Well, I will be there. So if you want to find out who I am, I will probably be working the door checking for PocketPC devices. Remember, no PocketPC, No Entry!!! ... I am still witing for someone to show up with an Auto PC!!!
Maybe if you explain to them that when they do strip searchs at the boarder they aren't looking for electronic devices they might decide to come to Canada after all 8O
Maybe I'm just naive and oblivious to something, but can someone explain to me why all of these conferences/events/shows/hoohahs are being held exclusively in Europe? I mean, are there THAT many more European PocketPC users than there are American ones? I would think that these types of shows would be very well attended over here. I know myself and many friends and colleagues would love to go, but we can't fly overseas for this kind of stuff. What gives???

If you're talking about the FanFests, there have been 15+ held in the US over the past two years. The first was in New York, then Vegas, then on the Mobile Experience tour we did about ten across the country...so, trust me, the FanFest has been a US-only thing for a long time.
And if you're talking about Mobius Europe, hopefully my other post explained this - Mobius 2001 was in Redmond, Mobius 2002 is in Germany for the first time.
The US has historically had 99% of the Pocket PC events that Microsoft does, so no whining!
No worries folks - If you can't make the FF in Germany - stay tuned for one in London during the Mobility Dev Con and then the usual gigs during the year around the US. I do have my eye on Canada ~ so stay tuned!
It'd be just a hop, skip and jump up the street to Vancouver! Not a bad start, then maybe Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal!
Sounds like fun! When do we start?
