For those who missed the chat, a summary:

Phone Edition will be updated this year. They are thinking of adding new features.


It's really hard for these corporate chats to work, they can't really answer any of the tough questions and all the easy questions have been answered on the net.

yes indeed i think we will see many improvements. Contacts pictures will be supported since its a new feature in outlook 11.

I'm having trouble finding the transcript. Did they mention whether the improvements would be in the form of new hardware or would it be in the form of some type of "flashable ROM" upgrade?

It's apparent they have a decent sized team working just on PE, that's good. They did say things like they "are thinking of adding voice command support" which either means they are already doing it and don't want to tip their hand or they are still so early in the development cycle that new features aren't even firmed up.

Based on my impression of their overall tone, my guess is that PE 2003 won't be out until Q3 or Q4.
