Default Dale Coffing is Alive and Well. Really!

In the past week, I've received no less than five email messages from people who have been asking me if Dale Coffing is dead because he hasn't updated his Web site since June 21st. I was getting a little tired of these messages, so I called Dale on his cell phone today to get the scoop. So here's the deal: Dale's front page is run using FrontPage, and the extensions on the current server have become corrupted, making it impossible him to update the site. His forums are alive and well, however. Over the past few months, Dale and some helpers have been working on a content management system (CMS) to run Dale's site. Dale tells me about 50% of his content has been moved into the new CMS, and he hopes that within two weeks it will be up and running. He's also moving to a new Web host, so that adds to the complexity. But rest assured that Dale Coffing is alive and well, and Pocket PC Passion will come back with a vengeance!

Was wondering what was going on over there (but hadn't emailed anyone about it  ). Thanks for the front page update.

It was the most logical explanation......

One of the hotest sites for PocketPC new suddenly being stuck just two days before a major update of the OS, it makes you wonder. I would have put my money on Dale being shot by the guards of Microsoft when he wanted to publish PPC2003 a day early There goes that bet

Well I'm glad he's alive, but I think he's really let his site waste away. Over the past year or so he seems to have moved on to other things. Why wouldn't he post something in his forums about what was going on? It amuses me to no end that news about Pocket PC Passion was reported first on Pocket PC Thoughts! Well, I've certainly stopped checking his site and doubt I'll go back. Long live Pocket PC Thoughts!

When I got my first PPC (back in june 2000), daveīs site was the "pocketpcthoughts" back then. But over time his site has been lagging behind. The layout and overall design of the site is really getting old. I know I heard that he is planning a comeback with a whole new site.
i am looking foward to that!

Dave, we miss you, and canīt wait to see you back in action!!!

BTW, PDABUZZ is also schedule for a site overhaul... I really hope so.
and please brighthing, get a new image - no more purple and green color schemes. please!

Yeah I was wondering what was going on too and I figured he'd moved on to helping Microsoft out more or something. It'll be cool to see the new layout/design.

I'm glad everything is alright. It is funny. You don't blog or post anything for more than 5 days or 2 months and everyone thinks your dead. We've gotten so used to reading everyone's lives online.

I find it strange that for many people, their first thought about a lagging website was that the webmaster was dead

You often read about Dale going to this MS conference, that PPC conference. I suspect his time on the road has put his website in second place.

Who's dave?
I meant Dale. (sorry, typo)

I agree with most of you, seems that Dale, has moved to big and better things... or maybe he just got a palm

I believe that Pocketpcthoughts is one of the best news site there is, not only because it keeps us informed about pocketpcs, but also about everything else that interests us.

May be we should invoque Dale to pay us a visit in this post and see what his plans are for his site and find out what palm he got
