Default Bill Gates Celebrates Worldwide General Availability of Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System

http://www.microsoft.com/events/exe.../billgates.mspx

"From Times Square in New York City, join Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates for a live webcast celebrating the worldwide launch of Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System. The celebration pays tribute to the millions of Microsoft customers, partners and product testers around the world who provided input and feedback on these products -- helping Microsoft transform the way people communicate, create and share content, and access information and entertainment in the new digital age."

As Microsoft has so eloquently put it, the "wow" starts now. In roughly six hours, Bill Gates will announce the worldwide general availability of Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System. Both offer plenty of new features to the table, even on the mobility side as we see the Windows Mobile Device Center replace ActiveSync, and OneNote Mobile join the Office Mobile suite as a mobile client supporting two-way sync with OneNote 2007.

I'm looking forward to Office2007. It looks amazing!

Like I've told my clients, I won't be upgrading any of my users to Vista for at least a year. Bugs and application compatibility being the top concerns.

Does anyone know if you can sync the same PocketPC on a Vista machine with Windows Mobile Device Center at home and still use Activestink on an XP machine at work??

It ships with OneNote 2007. After you install it, you are given the option of installing OneNote Mobile on your Pocket PC or Smartphone.

There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to. I vaguely remember trying this out succesfully months ago while beta testing Windows Mobile Device Center, which incidentally, is still in beta. :frusty:

Cleaver Marketing by MS...

"Wow" = "World Of Windows"

And with a simultaneous global release, it really is going to be that way :!:

I got my copy of Vista free though that online seminar thing a few months back. Frankly the restrictions MS is putting in place with Vista I would never consciously spend money on it. I know that its going to be a massive PITA when I want to migrate Vista on my desktop to a used tablet PC someone is going to be selling me in about 3 months. I shouldn't have to beg MS to uninstall Vista, reinstall XP then install Vista on the Tablet from scratch, but I know I'm probably going to have to do just that. :evil: Its not right and its the primary reason I purchased a MacBook Pro.

I've been using Office 2007 for about a week. Love it. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade (for the student price).
