Issues Receiving Data on a Pocket PC w/ Microsoft Bluetooth Stack?

This seems to cause the most confusion with ex-Widcomm Bluetooth stack users as Widcomm-equipped Pocket PCs (including my own HP hx4700 iPaq) don't mix both infrared and Bluetooth with the seemingly simple definition of "incoming beams." So if you own a Pocket PC (or even a SmartPhone I'd imagine) outfitted with the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, it's an all-or-nothing kind of deal if you want to receive any data using either infrared or Bluetooth.

Forget beams - this is all well know yet another anoyance beamed to your PDA from Microsoft "professionals". They just did not figure out yet what Bluetooth is and how to implement it. Another example is you cannot use A2DP profile if you stream audio from WiFi connected Internet.
Terrible, terrible ..... implementation of Bluetooth stack from Microsoft. I remember 20 so years ago how they struggled to get TCP/IP right on PCs.....

Well, this issue ("you can't receive anything over Bluetooth either if you disable "Receive beams"") has nothing to do with the overall quality / usability of the Microsoft Bluetooth stack and could also be very easily fixed by the MS folks - after all, it's just an additional checkbox in the "Beam" applet, an additional Boolean variable and a slightly modified conditional.

(In addition, there are some (not many, I admit) areas the MS BT stack is clearly better than that of Widcomm/Broadcom, as far as the WM OS is concerned. For example, Object Push is accessible and works with all target devices, unlike on pre-WM5 devices with the Widcomm BT stack.)

Well, the current, 0.50 version isn't THAT bad. I use it on a daily basis (mostly because of the highly useful BT PAN) and am pretty happy with it.

How you know they have boolean data type at Microsoft ?

Well, the current, 0.50 version isn't THAT bad. I use it on a daily basis (mostly because of the highly useful BT PAN) and am pretty happy with it.

In my case it stops playing over A2DP no matter what is BT speed, whether I installed right after hard reset and ... wirless icon shows up after a delay, blue light on also after delay, if you use BT GPS few hours device least sometimes stops responding, etc.
I reverted to MS BT.
Another annoyance with MS BT is you cannot disconnect from device - at least for wirless stereo there should be button or menu item to disconnect.
Do you use Visual Studio to develop Widcom ?
