Well, this issue ("you can't receive anything over Bluetooth either if you disable "Receive beams"") has nothing to do with the overall quality / usability of the Microsoft Bluetooth stack and could also be very easily fixed by the MS folks - after all, it's just an additional checkbox in the "Beam" applet, an additional Boolean variable and a slightly modified conditional.
(In addition, there are some (not many, I admit) areas the MS BT stack is clearly better than that of Widcomm/Broadcom, as far as the WM OS is concerned. For example, Object Push is accessible and works with all target devices, unlike on pre-WM5 devices with the Widcomm BT stack.)

Well, the current, 0.50 version isn't THAT bad. I use it on a daily basis (mostly because of the highly useful BT PAN) and am pretty happy with it.
