Default HTC Touch Sales Reach 2 Million Units

http://www.betanews.com/article/HTC...hone/1200942197

"Steve Jobs said last week at Macworld that Apple had sold 4 million iPhones worldwide since its launch. HTC today reported a surprisingly aggressive 2 million Touch phones had been sold. In total, the company reported sales of 11.8 million handsets, 12% more than it had sold in 2006, garnering 12% more revenue as a result."

Cool - hardly any advertising, and minus the Steve Jobs 'reality distortion field', the Touch still manages about half the sales of the iPhone. Mind you, I think what really attracted people to the Touch was its relatively small size, and perhaps the fact that you don't have to be living in the US and willing to become an AT&T customer to get one. I wonder how well the Touch variants would do if Apple starts officially selling the iPhone - hopefully with 3G - outside the US, and now Europe. I know there's a lot of interest in Asia where hacked iPhones can be gotten, albeit at an extortionate price - in my locale, they're going for the equivalent of US$800 or about a third more than the new Touch Dual.
