I typically have over 300 conversations in my inbox, and POP just crawls and screws up.

Online Gmail works fine for me most of the time.

I've used most of these google options on my PPC and more recently on my Motorola V551 phone. Google has been nice enough to build a java program for Google Local for use on my phone, so I haven't used the web browser version. All of the google features work well (especially that Google Local java app--but long routes don't get calculated) except POP. Of course POP still works on the PPC, and it used to work on my V551 (on Cingular), but recently has been failing. Luckily about the time it started failing they introduced m.google.com, and I like that I can search, archive, add star, etc which you can't do with POP. SMTP still works, so I can send attachments (the m.google.com doesn't even try to do attachments).

I love the Google personalised home page for mobile, but if you do any searches from it then you get the results in the same reduced format as searching from http://www.google.com/xhtml . Which is a shame. So I have Google bookmarked twice: once for the personalised home page summary, secondly for doing a search with full results.

Regarding the http://www.google.com/gwt/n search option, can anyone confirm that the pictures are reduced in size for loading ? I also surf on GPRS a fair bit (though mostly on Wi-Fi from home), and if loading pages in this way reduces the size (data) of images then that’s a real boon, cause images obviously tend to be data heavy – but I like seeing the them when on GPRS.

Problem with the driving directions is that it asks you to download a file to "main memory" to view the results. But the file has no extention and is unreadable.

Is it possible to bookmark a website once it has been optimized? that way in my favourites I could have optimized links for sites without a mobile version. So far I only seem to be able to bookmark the Google Optimizer, the address bar doesn't change at all. Thanks in advance.

My favorite use of google right now is the SMS features.

Faster than calling 411, or browsing a yellow page sight.
