Default Jason and Dave's ThoughtCast - April 7, 2006

http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/tho...ave04072006.mp3

In early March, you likely read Raphael Salgado's review of the g-Smart Smartphone. The g-Smart includes TV support, which is a new feature that is starting to appear in Windows Mobile devices. But is TV support something that is really needed in devices? What would be the benefits and the drawbacks of having it included? I recently have been thinking about these and wanted to get Jason's opinion on the matter as well. In this ThoughtCast we talk about the idea of devices including TV and other solutions for getting TV to your device.

Show notes:
• TV on Devices
• The g-Smart Smartphone
• Windows Media Center
Orb
Slingbox

About 3 minutes into the show Dave lamented over the fact that you can't watch TV(orb/slingbox) and do something else on your PPC.

Well, in a kludgey round about way, you can.

If you're watching video with TCPMP and check Options/Settings/Player/Show video in background, the video will actually stay on screen if you switch to a different app. Unfortunately, the video stays right in the center of the screen and you can't move it. You can shrink it by adjusting the zoom factor, but that's about it. Now if the author of TCPMP would put a frame around it and let you resize and move it around the screen, that would be awesome.

Good show. Very interesting. (I wouldnt mind longer shows )

One note about SlingboxSlingbox Mobile that wasnt really clear...
If you connect it to your TiVo or, in my case, my Scientific Atlanta DVR/Cable Box...not only can you watch whatever live channel you want but also, play recorded shows, set up recordings, watch on-demand movies, etc. It literally controls your entire cablebox just like you had your own remote in your hand.

Default Error in RSS Feed !

One of my users has mentioned a problem in downloading your podcast.
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/xml/thoughtcast.xml

It looks like the problem is the URL attribute of your Enclosure element. You are not including the ".mp3" extension of the file, and RSS Aggregators cannot find the file.

Once you correct this problem, FeederReader will detect the changes and should update each message seamlessly.

Which reminds me... iTunes had issues with this particular file as well. I had to right-click and save the mp3 and drag it to the folder that contains my Podcasts to get it onto my iPod. All the other Thoughtcasts since I got my iPod (in February) have worked fine.
