"Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading mobile phone manufacturer announced the launch of Omnia, Samsung’s all-in-one mobile phone in the Italian market on July 22. Starting from Italy, Omnia will be available through major European mobile operators and in most of GSM supporting open markets during July and August. Â*Omnia meaning ‘everything’ in Latin and ‘wish’ in Arabic, goes beyond the current top-of-the-line features available in today’s mobile phones.Â*As the first market in Europe, Samsung had pre-order promotion for Italian consumers in cooperation with Media world, the electronics stores in Europe. The consumers who made the reservation for Omnia from July 14 will receive Xbox 360 Arcade gaming systems when Â*will be available. The price will be at 499 Euro (8GB) without subsidy."
In just under a week, the Omnia will make its long-awaited debut in Italy. Other European markets can expect to see it later this month or next month in two versions - an 8GB and a 16GB; the former will sell for €499 ($793.7 USD) outright. Anyone here planning on picking one up when released?

I just hope one of the Austrian providers will offer it.
doesn't look good for now. I called most of them and they all said no, or at least "don't know"...
Unfortunately, it all depends for me on what AT&T decides to subsidize. I, too, wish that the Omnia came with a VGA screen (or, better, the WVGA screen that will be used for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1), but it has enough else going for it that I would be willing to settle for the WQVGA screen. It's still a step up, although not as much as I would have liked, from the QVGA I'm stuck with now.
Got mine last week and it works very well on T-Mobile, there are a few things that niggle and hopefully will be fixed in a rom update (not sure how I'm going to get hold of that as I wont be able to go to a Samsung service center in Singapore), and ironically I find Opera to be the biggest culprit, sometimes sites refuse to load on the first try or not at all, MSVC doesnt route its audio over BT even though you can activate it from a headset. I havent had any freezes apart from Opera locking up on one site in particular and have only had to reset after installing apps or applying any tweaks. Overall this is shaping up to be the best WM device I've had.
Been already doing a side by side comparison of this, the Apple 3G and the HTC DIamond. Considering all's strengths and weaknesses, I'm still getting one. Would be a slightly late birthday gift for the wife first, and my Omnia has to wait a bit, unless I get a pay rise in 2 weeks!
