Granted, as I said, it could be a mockup, or not a final or real image yet.
If the rumours are true there would be a version with VGA and two models with QVGA.

But its still ugly. Where are all the designers!? Its time one of these manufacturers get F.A. Porsche to design a limited edition model (like they do on Lacie USB drives, watches, pens).

Wow, it's even hotter than in the drawing.

If this one's fake then it's photoshop mastery AFAIK.
The side buttons for recording and wireless enable/disable are missing though, just as in the vector image.

They're there 8) look at the large pic, I don't know exactly what is where but it looks like the switch is near the top, there looks like a side rocker switch below and 1 or 2 other things further below 8).

But FCC X50 front photo shows connectors for these buttons almost exactly where they are in X3/X30 and it's those I can't see.

A little OT, but does anyone know if the serial connector on this device will be the same as the x5? I will choke if I have to buy another keyboard...

I do not know anything about this connector, but I can tell you that it is not the same as the X5. They changed connectors with the X3 and Dell's plan was to make all connectors from that point on the same.

Hmm. Sounds like my iPAQ experience!

I guess that I will wait a while and try to milk my X5 until I absolutely need a new device. I have a drawer full of cables, peripherals, etc. with no home, and I'm not going to go down that road again any sooner than I have to.

Thanks for the info!

By the Way guys, The vga model (and possibly the QVGA) really will have the 2700G Multimedia processor (I know there has been some discussion before if this was a rumor or not).

If you go to this site, and look at the video, go to about 47 minutes in. http://www.intrinsyc.com/products/carbonado/

One of the Executives from Intel mentions that Dell will be using the 2700G in their next generation Axim due in the second half of 2004.

Maybe this will end that discussion ;-)

BTW Here is a nice pic of the Prototype that Intrinsyc built.
