Philips was one of the first in the Windows Mobile market, then called Windows CE, Some of you will remember, or may have even owned, the
Philips Velo or
Philips Nino. Unfortunately, Philips jumped ship when the name change to Pocket PC happened and has ben absent ever since. Now they are making their way back with two new devices, the X800 and X-Connect.
Philips X-800Specs for the X-800 include:
- tri-band GSM/GPRS (so not likely destined for the US market.
) - 2.9" display with 240x400 resolution
- Touch interface
- 2megapixel Camera
Pricing and release date are not known. They also have a device called the X-Connect which has few details, other than a 3 inch screen and it will lack WiFi - which is an odd thing to lack in a device with the word "connect" in its name.
