Default Parrot 3400 LS-GPS: Colour Hands-Free Kit with GPS

http://www.parrot.biz/products/index.php?id=3400

Integrated GPS (twelve channels), colour screen (262K-colour, 160 x 128), hands-free support, Bluetooth - so, what doesn't this device have? The Parrot 3400 LS-GPS was launched at CES yesterday with a recommended retail price of $399. A little expensive, though given the multitude of functions it supports, the price tag could almost be forgiven. So I guess from here on, the market will decide whether it succeeds as the jack of all trades.

I would assume that it is being used with a Nokia 6670 phone.

Well, it acts like any other Bluetooth GPS device, so you'd be inclined to view the screen of the PDA, anyway.

I see, so this unit gives the user the choice of using either the integrated screen (as a standalone GPS) or with a cellphone/PDA (as a GPS receiver)...

It's not like BT GPS receivers are new to me, this just struck me as odd as the resolution on a Nokia 6670 (176x208) is only marginally higher than this unit.

Actually, I think your still miss-understanding the purpose of the device. It's basically a BT HandsFree device for your Cell Phone, that also happens to have a GPS receiver built into it. I'm pretty sure you can't use this as a stand alone GPS receiver (using the built in screen). To use the GPS functionality you have to use a PDA or Laptop. The built in screen is used for displaying your contact list (automatically syncs with your cell phone) and picture caller-id for incomming calls.

Ah! Now that makes more sense...
