If you're in the USA market, Mobile Crossing is on the verge of releasing an all-in-one Pocket PC / navigation solution with their Waypoint range of products. The Pocket PC looks to be the same FIC device Janak wrote about earlier. There will be two versions: the silver colored Waypoint 100 (without Bluetooth) and the Bluetooth colored and enabled Waypoint 200. Waypoint offers full featured navigational software to that, including a huge amount of points of interest, and can get traffic and weather information from the internet.
Not a bad pocketpc, but no matter how much I love bluetooth, making the whole unit blue is a bit too much :lol:
Nice specs (128Mb ram, 400Mhz processor), but only a 1200mAh processor. On the other hand this is meant to be used to be used in the car, so this may not be too much of an issue.

8O Whoa. This is huge. Link this baby to a Bluetooth cellphone and get real time traffic updates? Wow. That would be amazing. I wonder if they'd be interested in sending me a review unit? :wink:
Just FYI if you check the datasheet, the gps device is actually a seperate CF GPS. So really this is just a 2215 with built in GPS software. Oh and BTW the traffic updates have a yearly subsription cost. [/quote]
It looks like (from the display) that they are using Mapopolis Navigation software. Mapopolis at one time also offered a traffic component where traffic info was obtained via an internet connection. They discontinued that offering due to lack of interest.
These guys don't have their traffic or weather service available yet, but both will be subscription-based (as Mapopolis' was) and they seem to require an Internet connection (although the traffic one indicates there may be some other mechanism - they aren't describing it, maybe the newer XM-traffic service). If they use a pricing model similar to what Mapopolis used, then they are going to have a hard time selling the service, but if they come in at a lower cost, then they might make it work.
