Hmmm, lucky. Very dangerous sport that - 500m freestyle obstacle avoiding!
Yeah, it sure is more dangerous than carrying in a protective case. But, I found usability gaining is so greater than the risk of damaged screen. I tried many cases for Treo and most of them wee thin and tight, but they never matched the usability of naked phones. Also the screen off Treo is fairly small, so chances of breaking it is relatively low. With X50v, honestly I feel less comfortable carrying it naked and that's why I have a Sena case. Sena generally makes nice cases, but I think they made X50v case a little bit too thick compared to their other products.

That's why I liked the Jornada's flip cover so much. I never needed a case, yet I had protection.

Doesn't protect the screen? That's not worth it...

Screen protection is the only reason I'd consider bulking up the size of a PDA with a case.
