Default It's Still No SCOTTeVEST

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...ny_wired_jacket

As it becomes more and more difficult for us to pry ourselves away from our mobile devices, we've begun to create ways to make carrying them with us as easy as possible. One of the latest attempts at this comes from Germany, where a company called Rosner GmbH & Co. has come up with a jacket with an MP3 player stitched right into the lining.

"A 128-megabyte MP3 player is controlled through cloth buttons on the left sleeve. Headphones are built into the collar. The jacket also has a hands-free cell phone microphone tucked into the collar, which works with phones on the Bluetooth short-range wireless standard. A tiny electronic module containing the music player and the battery, which the company says is good for up to eight hours per charge, can be slipped out so the jacket can be washed."

This looks like a neat idea, especially the control buttons on the sleeve. But it also seems a bit pricey and a bit familiar.

You know me, though; it'll take a lot to win me over from my beloved SCOTTeVESTs. No matter what your preference is, though, the arrival of more kinds of technology-friendly apparel makes one point perfectly clear: Wearing these does NOT make me a geek!

Nope, that's no SCOTTeVEST. And nothing I would wear, if the control "pad" isn't made less hard-looking... :?

if you replace her head with this:

shove her in the jungle, and make her laugh slow and maniacal. . .and then have her blow up, then this photo becomes oddly familiar. . .

Because you're only considered a geek until your way of doing things becomes mainstream. I'm a trendsetter, baby!
