Default HP to Release the iPaq rw6828 Pocket PC (Based on O2 XDA Atom)

http://www.pocketpcitalia.com/News/...PAQ-il-nuovo-rw

The link is in Italian, but you can find the Babelfish translation here. This new device is reportedly based on the same O2 XDA Atom design that many of you are familiar with already. You'll find that the HP rw6828 support page is actually up already at HP's US support site, so it may only be a short time before this launches. (Post-Edit: I may have spoken too soon as it appears that this support page may have been taken down)

You can probably expect the following specifications (based on the O2 XDA Atom): Windows Mobile 5, Intel PXA272 416MHz CPU, 64MB RAM/128MB ROM, 2.7" QVGA display, 2mpx camera, Tri-Band GSM (my guess will be 850 support instead of 900), WiFi 802.11b, Bluetooth, mini-SD slot, FM radio.

It was said originally that the device would support quad-band. I wonder if that still stands. :?

If it's not a silly question, why 802.11b rather than 802.11g for the WiFi?

That might be right. I was basing my conjecture based on the current specs I've seen for the Atom outside the US.

Strangely enough, it looks like HP has taken down their support page...
