Default Engadget Mobile Offers Eyecandy of the Verizon XV6900

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/...v6900-hands-on/

"Anyone remotely familiar with the HTC or Sprint Touch will feel right at home with Verizon's version, the XV6900. The XV6900 isn't content to just fall in line and play "me too," though -- Big Red decided to go with a blindingly glossy white finish, bucking the soft-touch black used as a staple of the Touch line, and that could be a boon or a bust depending on who you are and how you intend to use the device."

If you've been eyeing the GSM version of the HTC Touch, but are a Verizon customer, take a look at the photo gallery of the XV6900 that Engadget Mobile as put together.  Personally, I think I prefer the dark gray of the other Touch versions, but a sharper screen is nice to hear about, plus the addition of 3G.  What do you think of Touch, The White Album?  Any Verizon customers making the switch or already done so?

I have a VZW 6900... The white housing is not near as nice the black rubbery ones from other carriers. The white housing is slick and feels very flimsy in your hand. The housing also has a problem with cracking in specific spots. It seems like it is a problem with quite a few 6900's. I was annoyed with taking mine back to the VZW store numerous times so I bought a black Sprint housing and swapped them out. Take a look at these posts from other sites for more info:

Other than the cracked housing issue the 6900 has been the best phone/pda I have owned! It seems very fast compared to other PDAs/Phones I've used (XV6700, Treo 700w & wx, Moto Q and Q9M). The screen is very bright and sharp. I have included everything I need on the Today Screen so I do not use the Touchflo that much. It is kind of neat though.

If you can get around the possibility of the housing cracking (I understand if some people cannot) then I would highly recommend the phone.

Thumbs up Love it

I have been using the Verizon xv6900 for a few weeks. Previously I was using the motorola razr and Dell Axim V3M and deceided to consolidate. I couldn't be happier. Battery life is great, slim, powerful---- just about perfect.
