Default Alarm Fix for Treo 700w

Looks like WM5 brought back the famous alarm problem: my Treo 700w from Verizon is not notifying of my first appointments of the day. When I opened Tweaks2k to see if it had set the Alarm Fix, it shows the fix as grayed out (with the default setting of 15 seconds). I have used both MemMaid and SkTools to verify that I do not have duplicate notifications, but apparently the default 15 seconds simply isn't enough for the Treo (as it's probably not enough for Any device) and I'm looking for some way of setting it to 60 seconds or so. But, I am concerned that just doing the registry hack may screw something up: given that Tweaks2k shows this as greyed out, there may some reason for Not adjusting it.

Thoughts?

It's my understanding that ClearNotify and CheckNotifications are not suitable for WM5, so I am not trying them unless I can get more confidence that they work (besides - since there are no duplicates, these probably wouldn't help anyway).

I bought the Treo so I could carry around only one device. Now I'm having to carry around a Palm as well to have reliable alarms. This is absolutely absurd.

I contacted the developer after having similar issues with my Dopod 818Pro. He actually compiled a version with the old tweak still there for me to try. It did seem to work, although the problem just resurfaced in the past two days after being fine for a month. One work around that seems to correct it is to deselect the calendar in activesync, delete all appointments on the phone and then re-enable the sync for the calendar. This puts everything back on your device and seems to clean up the alarm problem. At least that has worked for me in the past.

Thanks, but given that both approach sound like temporary solutions, I'll pass. I decided yesterday to enable MS Voice Command, as I had read that it overcomes the problem, and my alarms did work today. However, I am not thrilled with the performance of MS Voice Command on WM5 and using it to fix an alarm problem seems like a hugely disportionate solution. I'll continue to hope for long-lasting solutions that don't take 3MB+ of memory to implement.

Take care.

Finally found a program that takes care of the notification problem, making my Treo 700w totally reliable with regard to appointment alarms! MemMaid (version 1.72) has a notification cleanup utility within it, and you can go through the notifications listing and find tons of duplicates and several nonsense entries (I had about twenty or so notificaitons that were just UID codes - note sure what program threw them in there but they were junk and getting rid of them and the dupes solved the problem).
