Default Tell ASUS you want MOBILE 5.0 for your A730W

ASUS support has a new forum... and the PDA forum is starting to get active.

Please check it out:
http://support.asus.com.tw/

I also hope you can register and reply to my (J Cat's) request that ASUS stop dragging their feet and announce support for Mobile 5.0, since all other competitors (HP, Dell, Fujitsu-Siemens) already announced support for their top-of-the-line models.

Hopefully, it will get a lot of requests and they start feeling the pressure from us. After all, it's ASUS who will benefit the mo$t from giving their customers the support we deserve.

The A730W is a very capable product, and we really need to speak out if we want Mobile 5.0. It would benefit the USB host and VGA features a lot. I don't want to see it disappear because ASUS made a bad decision to overlook the upgrading it NEEDS to stay afloat with all other VGA pocket PCs.

Thanks,
J Cat

Send a message via Yahoo to Patrick Y.

I don't have a a730w, but it is the PDA I want the most. I just hope that they will issue WM 5 upgrade.

Default Any Updates???

Do we have any information from Asus regarding the update to wm5?

jhennig...where did you find your info about them not releasing it???

If they haven't released any info, then it is all up in the air. I'm hoping that they come to their senses and at least tell us one way or the other. I am willing to pay a fee if necessary. But then again if they wait on this, as the new wm5 devices come out, Asus may lose yet another customer. The longer they wait the worse it will be in terms of current sales and future sales.

Maybe they are building it up right now. lol

I want this release on my A730w. Then it would be the must ppc i have seen or owned.

Best Regards

Asus have been telling retailers that there won't be an upgrade - just a new model. Telling Asus you want them to change their minds is unlikely to work sadly - one - because they would really need to have started work on it by now - two - because they reneged on the upgrade to the a716 and - three - they keep locking and deleting threads requesting the upgrade in their support forums.

Thank you duncan... I got my info from Justin of ProPortable. He told me that Asus wanted to retailers to keep mum about it with the hopes that it wouldn't come up. He told me that Asus has NO plans to release it.

Wow. That's a bummer for Asus. I'm looking to get a new PPC and came into this forum because I WAS going to get the Asus and wanted to read up on it first. GLAD I DID! Now I can just vote with my wallet.

Sorry Asus. That kind of cust service won't get you any of my money.

Dam !
A top of the line model, with a price to match, and NO UPGRADE ???
Of all the issues, this really pisses me off!
Makes me whish I got the Loox720.
What da hell are they thinking?
If Dell can do it with the X50, then there's no excuse for Asus.
Don't believe any excuses either, the only true excuse is that they are just not good enough a company to keep a cusotmer.
What a shame such a good, and relatively new device being betrayed, with no upgrade support, by it's maker!
