Default Windows Mobile 2003 update 2??

Hi, I'm triying to install Adobe Acrobat reader in my i700, but one of the requierments is to have the Windows Mobile 2003 update 2, is there a way to find out if it is already installed or how to obtain it, the windos mobile website doesn't mention any of this....

TIA,

A

They probably mean Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition - and Samsung/Verizon hasn't released that yet (they probably never will). Does Adobe have another version you can download?

The rep at verizon told me that the phones that have been released have windows 2003, and you can tell just by checking the about button, but as far as the update 2, that confused me, if there is an update don't we need it? if so, from where, but then again thats what "adobe" said not windows.

There are other versions for the older version of windows mobile but why mess with the wrong version when I have the last one, right?

what do you think? :?:

You can head down to Adobe and download the latest version of the Adobe Reader (v2). There are different variants of this version and they are designed for different OSes. It should work on WM2003: I've tested it before and I can confirm this.

Sounds like it either is asking for a newer build of WM2003 (there have been several) or WM2003 Second Edition.

However, there's only one build of WM2003 for i700s, and that's about it. Give it a try and see if it works. If it doesn't, try Adobe Reader v1, or much better, RepliGo (but which admittedly isn't free).

The confusion is that the Adobe site says
Quote:
Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2002 version 2.0
Platform: Pocket PC 2002 and Windows® Mobile 2003 with Update 2
and
Quote:
Adobe Reader for Pocket PC version 1.0
Platform: Pocket PC 2002: all models - ARM, X-Scale CPUs
(but only for Japanese :?: )

The V2 works on everything, though they failed to list WM2003 and Update 2 doesn't exist. There is a Second Edition (which I would call Update 1, wouldn't you?). Guess the web guys missed the memo.

If you have, or can find a copy of ver 1, it works on all the platforms as well. V2 is seemingly faster, has some more features, and is huge. V1 is not quite so huge.

Get the 2.0

Default Samsung i700 to upgrade to WM2003

Hello Everyone...
This is my first time here, but I'm glad I found this forum and sincerely HOPE it will HELP me to find what I seem to need:
I purchased my Samsung i700 from Verizon with Pocket PC 2002 installed. Soon after, right on the Verizon website after logging in, it was suggested by Verizon that I upgrade to WM2003, and there was a link to be able to do that over the internet for free.
My i700 battery went dead and now I need to reinstall the WM2003 in order for many of my programs and most of my peripherals to work correctly. Neither Samsung, Verizon, or Microsoft seem to have this upgrade available anymore.
If there is anyone out there that can advise me on where I can download the WM2003 it would be more than GREATLY appreciated. <S>
Looking forward to your advice.
Thanks
Doobie

No, you should not have to. A WM2003 upgrade is installed permanently in ROM, and a dead battery does not remove it. In the worst case, you should only have to hard-reset the device. What is happening?

I recently received an i700 with PPC2002 installed and would also like to know where I can get the WM2003 upgrade, since Verizon no longer provides it on their website...

TIA
