Default i700--disable touch screen: e.g. key lock

can u disable the touch screen so u dont close/activate programs after u boot up? (not disable boot up via touch screen feature)

I don't have a Samsung i700 any more (Janak has it now for a review), but in the power section of the control panel, there's usually an option that says "turn on when screen tapped" - you'd want to un-check that box.

Yes it's....
Start
Settings
System Tab
Power
Etc Tab
...Then check the Lock Key checkbox.

Which will allow only the power button to awake the device.

I also set the "Sleep Time after answering the call" selection to NONE as the screen times out while still on a call unless you do. If you set this to any other selection (5, 30, 60 seconds) you most times have to turn the device off to hang-up the phone after being on a call.
